For Tanya's birthday, i got her tickets to see the SOUND OF MUSIC musical in toronto. We dropped the kids off at her parents and around 11:30 left to head into the big city. We have been famous for showing up just as the house lights go down so I was determined to change that. Figuring we only had an hour drive and 2 hrs to do it in, i assumed we had loads of time. I didn't account for construction and an ornery and messed up GPS. Anyway, we arrived just as they were shutting the door... maybe 30 seconds to spare. It was a great performance and we had a good time
Part way through the show, where the kids are going up the stairs at the dinner party, i was looking at the actors dancing and then I leaned over to tanya... hey, one of the actors is that annoying Canadian Tire dude. Tanya wasn't so sure but I'd recognize that agonizing face anywhere... at intermission, the lights came up and I checked the playbill and sure enough, Ted Simonnet... aka Canadian Tire Dude.

Santa Claus Parade

For the first time in 20 years, i was involved in the santa claus parade. The Hastings County Brokers Association has put a float in the parade and get in our very festive purple shirts. Isaac had a wonderful time handing out candy... kids weren't even asking for it, he'd scoot around, open their bag and dump some gum in... unbeknownst to them and they'd turn around and be like, what just happened there..

You'll notice i've been a little lax in blogging lately... except for some art work. About a month ago, i dropped my camer and well, the lens won't work anymore. By the time I pay to send it off to be fixed, and they may not be able to fix it.... so, i bought myself a new camera It's a lot smaller than my old one... a CANON SX120, 10MP, 10x optical zoom. I can fit it in my pocket and I'm assuming drop it a lot easier too.
