Isaac's First Hockey Game

The Scars of Church

I was walking in to church this morning holding Isaac's hand and he was holding Eva's. He did a little trip and fell and because he was still holding her hand, he knocked her over and she landed square on her nose. I'm anticipating the Childrens Aid to come and visit this afternoon.

It's been a busy week but a good one. We got a call on Friday afternoon that Isaac would be starting hockey this weekend... actually in about 4 hours after their call. I hadn't got all of his equipment yet, so after work, I rushed around like mad, picked up some things, got to his practice... and he's sound asleep in the back seat. Ah well. He played his first game saturday and did not too bad. He's so little that his pants reach the top of his skates, there's really no need for hockey socks.

In the afternoon, we put eva down for her nap. About 10 minutes later, i heard some funny noise coming from her room. Tanya went down to inspect, opened the door and here is eva, standing in her room after figuring out how to flip out of her crib, just standing there and then says "I don't wanna go to sleep" Ah great. After a quick trip to toys r us, eva now has a gate across her door to keep her in there although i'm assuming she'll figure that out too.

Isaac had a playdate with some friends from school. Got to meet the infamous twins Hemza and Asaad. He had a good time.

Smile of the day

Isaac's teacher is a neighbor and also a client of mine. Had to go over to her house tonight on some business and I was dying to know how our boy was doing.

Today in class, they read the book "Clang Clang, Rattle Bing Bang, I'm going to make my noise all day" She told me they had gone over this and she said Your little fart pipes in, hey, that's Robert Muntch.

She then said, he's the only 4 year old that I've met that tells a joke properly. He'd been rehersing his knock knock repitoire and was going to tell her today so it must have come out right. Never did ask about his scholastic sense cause deep down, i'm afraid to find out... but he is a funny man.

Book Fair/Open House

Isaac got to take us to his school tonight for a bookfair, open house and BBQ. He was pretty excited to see Clifford the Big Red Dog

It was kinda funny to see all these little kids come up and say "Hi Isaac" and we had no clue who they were. Today when he got off the bus, he announced to me that he wasn't going to make any more friends, he has enough friends. Delaney, Maguire, Owen and Hamza was his last friend. Oh Boy. After we got home tonight, we asked him if he liked his teacher to which he said " I said to her BANANA PANTS and do you want some syrsop with your feta cheese" my heart just sank... oh no, what is my son broadcasting to the general public. We asked, what did your teacher say and her reply "That's really quite funny" Oh man

At one point, Eva had climbed on the big monkey bars and was hanging there way in the air. Tanya and I were visiting with other parents and hadn't realized her climbing... in this pic she's just swinging on the littel monkey bars

Things I've Heard This Week

After arriving home from work one night, I was met at the door... "DADDY DADDY DADDY, I got a letter today from the Ottawa Senators and there was picture of the whole team in it Daddy. Daddy Daddy, the man with the dark face, he's the goalie"

Yes Son, that's right, that's Ray Emery.

"DADDY, there two people with dark faces in my class who sit with me at my lunch table" That's nice Isaac. God makes us all different.

... The next night ...

"DADDY DADDY DADDY, Hemza got a car sticker today at schooo-oool" By chance, does Hemza sit at your table Isaac? "Yes Daddy, How'd you know that?

I don't know, just a hunch

God Sends Us Rain

I got Isaac off the bus on Tuesday and it was raining a bit intermitantly and you could see a lot of rain in the clouds. I said, we better get inside cause it's going to rain. I asked Isaac, who sends the rain... his response " God does, so the flowers will grow and that our cars will get washed." Yup, thats it!:)
