Soccer Concentration

Before and after every play, Isaac assumed this position. Cracked me up every time. He played a really good game last night, they got beat fairly soundly but he was digging and running like crazy.

Ride the Caterpiller

So I had a pretty good day today in Toronto on course trying to learn to be a better manager I was up just after 5 and took the train to toronto. I was feeling guilty about taking the course on my daughters birthday but I'd be home just after 7 and it wouldn't be too bad... I got on the subway around 4:10pm and my VIA Train was to leave at 5:30. No worries. In 40 minutes, the train had gone about 4 stops. There I sat stuck on a "Rocket" somewhere between Summerhill & St. Clair. Finally got to Bloor and the subway was shut down completely south of bloor so you can imagine the mayhem of people trying to escape the underground. There was a sea of people as far as the eye could see and all of a sudden i hear this voice, "Hey Bruce" and it was Bryan Sarles. I eventually got out and and ran, tried to get a bus, walked, the sidewalks were just jammed. It's hot and i'm sweating like a greased pig. I eventually got to union at 5:40 and promptly missed my train. Next train to Belleville is 10:00pm... i'm heading to cobourg and thumbing a ride from there.... and yes, i win father of the year award as I'll miss my daughters birthday completely. Stink. Feels like a scene from Plains, Trains & Automobiles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVA

Today, Eva the Diva turns 2. In ways I can't remember what life was like without her but in other ways, it seems like she was born just yesterday. She has brought so much joy (and lack of sleep) to my life. She truly is a gift from God. Happy Birthday Sweety

Mommy Did You See That

The things kids say...

Kids were watching Happy Feet today and Isaac has one scene which he absolutely loves. Tanya was working on the laptop and Isaac asked "Mommy did you see that." Of course she didn't because she was on the computer so he asked her to rewind it again. She did but went back to the computer again. (We've seen the scene he likes about 20 times so we don't get too excited when he asks us to watch it again and again) Anyway, the scene went by and Isaac laughed and laughed and said "Mommy, did you see it, did you see" She answered yes I did to which he replied "Mommy, did you see it through your glasses when you were looking at the computer..."

BUSTED

Soccer Part Deux

High Fives at the end of the game

Isaac & Sophia are observing their uniforms at midfield as play goes on up the field... way up the field.

Tanya has officially become a soccer mom

Once he realized he had to run after the ball, he ran pretty good. We warned him all day about touching the ball with his hands and as soon as we walked in the door tonight, "Daddy, i didn't touch the ball the whole game with my hands"

Scottish Soccer Hooligans

Isaac had his first soccer game tonight. He did really well. Before the match, his soccer coach had them warm up by running a lap around the field. Isaac needed a little encouragment here as coach Bray helped him around the field
His team won 4-0 and he was pretty happy until we got home and we was rather down and upset that he did not score a goal. He ran like crazy and played well and had a lot of fun.

Victoria Day Weekend party

Had a get together for our friend Steve and had some people in for food and some fireworks. It was flippin cold and windy out but we managed to get a few fireworks off without having our house go up in flames so we were happy.

Working around the house

May 24th weekend used to mean hanging out with friends or doing something fun like going to ball games or movies. Now it means, working around the house and getting "to do" things done. This spring, we've gotten the lattice work done on the deck and today my father and I installed the toppers on the deck. Finally taking shape.

Got a load of multch today and got the flower beds ready for planting

Met my buddy last night with his two kids. Felt like single dads. Our wives were out getting pedicures and a night on the town and so we decided to meet for supper at McDonalds. Kids had a riot. Isaac got to the top of the big slide and decided he needed to come down... that was just.. fun.

Good Samaratin

So anyone who knows us knows that we tend to be a little late for things. Sunday Mornings around here are always a race and an adventure. Yesterday was no different. I was getting the kids ready and was running like mad. Isaac and Eva had been given a box of little books from their cousins Katie and Jacob the day before and Isaac insisted on bringing them into the jeep with him. As he got in, he dropped all of the books by accident on the floor and he started to freak. I immediately said, just leave them there, we'll get them after church, we don't have time to pick them up now to which he replied... "Daddy, be a good samaratin and pick them up"... at least i know he's listening in church... and yes, i was a good samaratin and picked up the books before we went to church.

Family Room

Got our new couch and chairs and TV Stand set up this weekend.
