8 is enough

It was to rain all day... so much so that I contemplated not showing up for soccer but in the end, we showed up last minute and good thing. At 9:30 it was pouring rain, by 10:00 it was hot and sunny. Not many showed up for soccer today but Isaac had his best game ever. The Royal Blue team won 10-3 and Isaac scored 8 goals. Isaacs friend Delaney scored 2 goals.

We have a few things to take care of before baby#3 comes along... one of which was buying bunk beds. We went to Master Bedroom in town and they were having a sale on in honour of their 15th anniversary, Save the tax - 13 % off. They were also having a Peel and Save event where you could save 5-50% off. I asked them what the odds were and they said there were 250 15% off stickers, 246 5% off stickers, 2 - 25% off and 2- 50% off stickers. As this was the last day of the promotion, 2 of the larger prizes were already claimed and they had only 1 - 25% and 1 -50% left. I fully expected to get the 5% and it began to peel off and the 5 appeared, i wasn't surprised. When they continued to peel the the 0 appeared, i was more than a little surprised--- 63% off. I was pretty excited... I think i did a happy dance right in the store! It was a good day

We also went out test driving vehicles. The Saturn Outlook is a cross over SUV and we tend to like it. We'll see...

I Love My Kids

As busy as life gets, as crazy as things go, I'm convinced children are a true gift from God. A gift that he gives us to keep us humble and also to make us laugh. The following story just catches a glimpse into the personality and character of our two kids. Isaac went to a birthday party on the weekend and got a loot bag. Tonight as we were going through the loot bag, there was a punching balloon... the ones that blow up really big with the elastic. Blew it up and the kids were just giddy playing with it. Both kids were fighting over the balloon, Eva losing most of the battles and usally ended up with her in tears. Anyway, the balloon went up in the air, hit the light and burst. Isaac went running in to the other room in tears, heartbroken that his balloon had burst. Eva, mere moments ago in tears herself, seeing her older brother in distress, sprang into action. She went running up stairs, ran by her mother muttering the words... "gotta get tape... gotta get tape" I came up and this is what i found... eva with the busted balloon, attempting to piece it back together with tape. Made my heart melt.

A few other stories of the day that made me smile...
Our potty training woes continue. Eva usually going on around the house wearing nothing but a shirt and a smile. Sitting on her little potty from time to time but crying and unwilling to actually do her business on the potty. After supper, she was running around the living room, she stopped for a moment, sat on the potty (which is in the living room) and then began to scream.... "Daddy... It's WORKING it's WORKING" Sure enough, it had worked.

It's now after 10:00. Isaac has been asleep for more than 2 hours... Eva still awake in her room talking non stop to herself. Tanya just walked by, looked in and said "EVA, go to sleep" and Eva stuck up her finger, pointed to her mother and said "When are you going to sleep"

Princess Paul

Forgot to blog these pics... they are keepers. It was a princess 3yr old birthday party this past weekend. We had just sat down to eat dinner when the door bell rang and who was at the door... Princess Uncle Paul...

To hear the kids laugh, it was priceless. I'm sure Paul enjoyed the reaction and thought the humiliation was worth it

Tim Bit Tuesdays

I am coaching Isaac's soccer team. Hard to be very impartial without giving preference or being too hard on your own kid but I will say this, I thought he played really good tonight. My brother showed up and took some great pictures

Below, Isaac is on a "Goal" run after his one goal. We lost 5-4 tonight. Isaac scored 3 goals and set up the other.

This just cracks me up. I think this is after one of the goals too... a little goal dance. Too funny

Party stuff

I had thought Delaney was fantastic at pin the tail on the princess... she put the stick on the exact spot... it was rather funny, she went to put it on, then rotated it and made one final adjustment and put it exactly on the right spot... apparently there was a peek hole in the mask that she was taking advantage of

Eva getting her 1979 COSSA championship medal...

Princess Cake

Because it was a princess party, we had to have a princess cake. It was actually 2 doz. cupcakes which was pretty easy for handing out to the kids

Tried to put princess party hats on some of the boys and the look of fear in their eyes... i'm sure I caused about 6 months worth of therapy when they're 30. I didn't make them... it was funny tho.
