Christmas

Edge DudeChristmas in many ways goes too fast but then there is some relief when I reliaze life goes back to some sense of normallity. We have been going non stop since before christmas and an out of town friend called and asked us out for dinner last night. I arrived home after work and went to get the boy dressed and ready to go out only to find him up at the dinner table, head in his hands and crying " I want to eat here, I don't want to go, I want to Stay" Perhaps we've been on the run too much. Happy Festivus

Go Away

Edge DudeOur son was exposed to someone with Strep Throat so we've been really watching him. On our way to church yesterday, Tanya started pumping the questions to him. Are you feeling ok, does it hurt to swallow, would you like a drink.

He turned towards his mother with this annoyed look on his face, "Go Away Mommy, I thinking" and then turned back and continued to look out the window. We all had a good laugh

Funny enough, I tried that same response later but wasn't received quite as well.

Family Photo

How is that Christmas Pictures end up looking so good yet they don't capture the essence of the day. Not sure if you can see the deathgrip I have on Isaac, one of the worst picture days ever but the picture turned out good.

My favorite christmas picture of the season belongs to my friend Jamie http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5217/1695/1600/DSCN3441.jpg.
It captures the true feeling of this busy season

Things I've Learned

When a woman complains they are too busy and have no time for anything and then go on at length to describe what was on Oprah that day, never say, I thought you didn't have time to do anything. Not Good

Also when a woman says don't get me anything for Christmas. What she really means is you better get me something for Christmas and if you don't, I'm shipping you out to Iraq.

Pizza Makes Me Happy.

Edge Dude
After a sleepless night Wednesday night, we retreated to walmart and bought the boy another soother. Last night, he slept like a charm. I explained to him that when he cries at night for 2 1/2 hours, it doesn't make daddy happy. He looked at me with a smile on his face and said... "Pizza make da da happy" Again, he is correct.

17 Days Til Christmas

I Have too much to do til Christmas. I was at a church finance meeting last night, everyone wants more money in their budgets. The fact that we were under budget this year by about $15,000 and that if we don't change anything, our expenses are going up by $13,000, we've gotta try and find another $28,000 not to mention all the extra money that every ministry and their mother wants. I don't know... All I do know is that the Bulls played last night and I'm not exactly sure what I agreed to at the end of the meeting in order to ensure things wrapped up so I could get to the game. Perhaps our parking lot is getting paved... I just don't know. Then I get home and Isaac decides he would like to stay up and cry from Midnight til 2:00am because he wanted me to lie down with him. We had a battle of the wills, he was going to learn, if he woke up in the middle of the night, he'd have to go back to sleep on his own, he doesn't need us. The battle of the wills commenced at 11:45pm and promptly ended at 2:07am... I lost.

Sure enough, today my father, buzzes on the intercom... for all the office to hear un beknownst to him... so sara, the gift exchange monday, i've got bruce's name right?... so the now I know...
