Oh Canada
So here is my beef. I was glued to the tv for the olympics and I was really excited about Canada doing so well. During the closing ceremonies last night, i was a little miffed. It's no wonder how the rest of the world thinks of canada, we play up the stereotype ourselves. We are our own worst enemy. During the ceremony which featured a presentation for the upcoming 2010 Vancouver Olympics, a man dressed in Maple leaf plaid pyjama bottoms comes out on a snow machine with an ogger to go ice fishing, catches a fish and all this dudes with snow are all excited. They start building this thing that looks like an igloo and it turns out to be that dude that is the logo for the olympics. Then they showed a commercial highlighting the theme... COME PLAY WITH US. In the commercial, there are 4 children... an oriential child, a young black girl, and young boy in a wheel chair that is skiing and throwing snowballs at the black girl and then another child which we can only assume, must be gay. Then in the commercial, there is a polar bear playing in the snow. Oh Canada!!!

Revenue Canada
So my father gets a call on monday from a lady at revenue canada. She wants to come in and meet with him. He asks is it personal or business, thinking if it's the business stuff, he'll pass her on to me. She said it was personal. So my father began to fret and stew wondering, what do they want with me. He called his accountant yesterday to let him know Revenue Canada was coming in and give him the heads up. The thought of an audit doesn't excite anyone and my father experienced a few anxious moments. What could this lady from Revenue Canada possibly want. After his 9am appointment with her this morning, I met with him to see what this lady could possibly want...
she wanted a quote on her car insurance!!! Doh! All that worry for not!
Why worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will take care of itself!

Jesus Is Over
What kind of upbringing am I teaching my Children. We were getting ready to leave church yesterday and as they were shutting the lights out, Isaac announced in a loud voice... "JESUS IS OVER" How true a childs perception can be sometimes. I explained to him that Jesus is never over and he's with us all the time. Church may be over but Jesus is never over!

Hair Drugs???
Got back at 2am from a business trip to St. Catherines-Buffalo. Got to see the Habs beat Buffalo 3-2. My seats were 2nd row, I could grab the goal judges butt if I wanted too, not that I would. Jose was on the bench and as you can see from this photo after the game winning goal, he has a healthy head of hair. Yesterday it was announced that he had tested positive for a drug that the olympic doping committee says is a drug that hides the use of steroids. The montreal doctor and theodore say its to prevent thinning hair and family baldness. Hmmm... I'm not sure I buy that.

All Star Game
Took Isaac to the all-star game last night. East won 9-3. This is the opening ceremony at centre ice. Bobby Orr dropped the ceremonial face-off. Earlier in the day, we had an All-star Luncheon with all of the athletes and special gates. Very swanky occasion and due to my involvement with Hockey Ministries, I was asked to say grace for the meal.
