Day 39

Such a horrible sad day in belleville today. On Jan 28, a young lady named jessica lloyd who lives just north of us on Hwy 37 disappeared from her home. For the last 10 days, everyone has been searching placing posters and looking for her. On sunday, just before our company came, we had a visit from an investigating detective asking us if we'd seen anything suspicious and wanting to know where we were the night of the 28th. It's surreal. Like the movies. On monday morning, the sad news had come that they had discovered her body.

The shocking news came that they had made the arrest of the person responsible... couldn't believe it. They arrestested the commander of CFB Trenton, the highest ranking officer, a colonel in charge of canada's largest air base. It's unthinkable and I still can't believe it. Glad to have this predator off the street... just hard to believe this kinda stuf is happening in little ol belleville

day 38

Super bowl sunday today. Started a tradition at the church last year, having "Souper" bowl, encouraging others to invite people into their home for soup. We had the hildebrands over on sunday night. On sunday night there was just 3 of them and by wednesdy, they are now 4! Welcome baby sierra

More Montreal

Day 36

Got Isaac some tickets to see montreal and pittsburgh. Bought them in september. We got 2 adult and 2 kids tickets so he could choose who to bring...

He chose his cousin Aodhan and Papa Mackay

Left on the train at 9:00am, arrived in Montreal at 12:30, game was a 2, done at 5, back on the train at 6 and home by 9:30. Long but fun day

Day 32 & 33

So I took half the day off on Feb 1 to spend some time with the kids. Went skating on the pond

Tuesday afternoon, i finish at 3 so I went home and went skating again... Fun times

Day 31

Mom and Dad got us tickets for christmas to see playhouse disney in concert at the k-rock centre in kingston

Can't go to Florida and disney world but did the next best thing... went to kingston:)

We say Handy Manny, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Kids had a great time. Thanks mom and dad

Day 30

Had a few couples over for games night tonight

Played trival pursuit and Balderdash

Copius amounts of fun

We had company saturday night and isaac was just acting up before they got there and he was getting in the way of us trying to vacuum, acting silly and in the end got scolded by tanya for misbehaving. he was told to go to his room. When I came out in the kitchen, i found a coloring book opened up and he had written..."I'm not speaking to you ever again Mommy. To Mommy, from Isaac" I started to laugh so I went and found him in his room, had a talk with him... so you don't want mommy to ever speak to you again? that's not fun... and he said, no, she can speak to me, I'm just not speaking to her ever again. His protest lasted all of 2 minutes and I'm happy to report the two are now on speaking terms.

Day 29

In my effort to keep memories, not sure what to keep and throw out, i've decided to scan in the artwork and throw it out after.

Day 28

So as I got up for work thursday, isaac was already up and he'd turned the TV on. I guess it was left on the channel we were watching the night before. When I came out, he had changed the channel back to NHL Hockey but he was going on at length that there was a new show on tv with two men and they were talking about Jesus. I just kinda nodded and thought, that's nice and didn't think much of it.

This morning as I got up to go to work, I see darkness in the living room with the glow of the tv on about 6:45. There sits Isaac with the remote, his sister cuddled up beside him sucking her thumb watching tv... watching Kenneth Copeland.

"This is the show I watched yesterday daddy" Gracious sakes. I knew for certain we weren't watching Global last night so He'd obviously remembered the channel and changed it this morning. I sat down with the two of them to watch. The thrust of this mornings message was, " Don't feel ashamed to go first class when you fly. God didn't call you to always go coach, perhaps you are to minister in first class. God wants you to prosper" I am just beside myself with this theology and i couldn't believe it held my kids attention and then I looked down at isaac, he looked up at me and says... "well, they sure aren't talking much about Jesus today"

I laughed out loud... they sure aren't kid

Day 27

Isaac went to the dentist today... got an x-ray done and it shows the adult teeth ready to come in... and the good news is, they're all there. The jones' family will understand this note of jubilation. Pretty neat picture... pretty expensive picture so I wanna get some mileage out of it.

Day 26

Finally, Eva's tooth fell out... fell out at school while eating an apple and the tooth was never recovered... it all comes out in the end:)
