If you ever want to increase my blood preasure, just talk to me about the Shane Doan Affair. Gilles Duceppe and the BLOC QUEBECOIS are using this to further their cause. Shane Doan who is a born again christian was accussed of saying "BLANKETY FRENCHMAN" in hockey game 2 years ago. Doan to this day insisted he didn't say it. Doan never swears, gets made fun of all the time by his teammates cause he says FUDGE instead of something else. What he actually said was in response to a missed call and trying to settle down his goalie Curtis Joseph who was furious over the missed call, "Four French Referrees in Montreal CUJE, Figure it out". NHL Did an investigation of it after the incident and he was cleared.
Gilles Duceppe and the BLOC have brought up this incident which was 2 seasons ago because Doan was selected as captain for Canada. Correct me if i'm wrong, isn't Duceppes main objective to separate from Canada and bring soverienty to Quebec? Anyway, if these words were so offensive and were racial slurs, then I would expect that Ladislav Nagy and the Slovak National team received equal treatment and accusations as doan did. Oh yeah, Nagy is the person according to the post game report from that game who was actually said that "Blankety Frenchmen" statement. How much do you wanna bet that Duceppe has not even contacted the Slovak Ambassador.. I'd bet the bank he hasn't.
