No Doctor

After 28 years as being our family doctor, Dr. Hadley in an ad in the local paper decided to shut down his practice immediately. There is a massive shortage of family physicians in Belleville and so now Tanya, Isaac, Eva and I are out on the street with a few other thousand clients looking for a dr. Hope the kids don't get sick...

12 Blinkin Shots

Went to the Habs Sens Game last night. Was there for a bit of history, Canadiens tied a franchise low with 12 shots in a game. Nice. Ah well, at least it wasn't like the leafs in 2000 in a play off game with NJ, 6 shots. Posted by Picasa

Phew

A collective sigh of relief... After 12 years of liberal rule, I can now sleep better at night knowing I'm in the hands of a conservative government. It will be difficult for them in a minority scenerio but I'm convinced they'll do well and garner the trust of the canadian people.

On a completely different note, During Dinner last night, Isaac ate his beans and carotts completely and raised his hands in victory and said " I go to Hockey Game" I guess punishing him a few weeks ago and not letting him go to the game for not eating his vegetables has paid off.

Another sign that things are changing... Isaac called me at work yesterday and said... "Eva is Making Me Mad" I feel for the kid. It's not going to get easier, that's for sure.

Prime Minister Harper

Today is election day. I voted last week. Perhaps I can vote again today? Not sure. On a day where Mad Cow & Ford Restructuring captures the headlines, I hope there is finally some good news with the announcement of a new Government in Canada. I feel sad for Martin, watching him each night in desparation tell mis truths and scare tactics. For a person who served in public life, not a very classy way to finish his career.

That's My Mommy

Don't ask me why but for whatever reason, sunday afternoon found Tanya and I relaxing watching some tv. We had one of those celebrity entertainment channels on and were watching Celebrity Weddings. There was everyone's favorite, STAR JONES, walking down the aisle... Isaac happened to walk in the room, took a look at the tv and said in a big loud voice... "That's My Mommy" I was crying I was laughing so hard until it showed Stars father who is older and then he announces... "That's My Daddy" Who Knew Posted by Picasa

Worry

I was reminded this week that I am much like my grand father Mackay, who worried all the time. A troublesome incident occured in our life this week and of course I didn't sleep or eat, just worried. As I get ready for my bible study tonight, it's in phillipians 4 - "Be Anxious about nothing but present your requests to God" But sometimes, it's just easier to worry!

I often wonder what my Grandfather would have been like if he lived in today's enviroment. I remember taking 6 hr trips from Quebec to our home and if we were 15 minutes late, he'd have called 5 times at our home number to see where we were. Can you imagine what our cell phone costs would have been like if Grampie had access to it? Where are you now. Oh, Richie texted us again to see where we are...

I miss my Grampa...

Teeth

My weekend consisted of getting up 5-6 times in the night as my dear little Eva cranked out 2 more teeth. I need sleep in a real bad way. The only thing that got me through it was listening to those signature sound albums!

Nice Hair

It happened again on Sunday. It Happens all the time. A southern gospel junkie came up to me and said how much I reminded him Signature Sound because my hair is spiky and all modern and That I should listen to them, I'd like them.

Well Sir, I see that you have a large tongue, maybe you should give Gene Simmonds and Kiss a try. While we're on the topic, I notice you're going bald... Peter Furler from the newboys is bald. I think you'd like them. Give them a listen! Posted by Picasa

Notwithstanding...

Does anyone else realize that this country has handed over all of its power to Beverly McLachlin, John Major, Michel Bastarache, William Binnie, Louie Lebel, Marie Deschamps, Morris Fish, Rosalie Abella, & Louise Charron. In the same sex debate, our prime minister promised that if there ever was a conflict between same sex marriage rights and religious rights (Churches being forced to perform same sex marriage), he would impose the notwithstanding clause to protect religious rights and freedoms. Last night in a feeble attempt to regain support, he pitched those rights out the window instead, embarking down a path that puts all power and supremecy for all laws and interpretation of laws in the hands of the 9 individuals above. In one foul swoop, he decided that the charter of rights and freedoms will dictate absolutely everything. All it takes is 5 of these individuals above to agree that the Bible goes against Canada's charter therefore there are no more protections and churches will be forced to preform same sex marriages and who knows what else. We have started down an extremely slippery slope. The power of our country should be balanced between the officials whom we've elected and the interpretation of the laws we've made. Giving power to 5 individuals and one document designed by Pierre Elliott Trudeau, is not only imbalanced, it's downright dangerous. ( Prime Minister Martin promised to protect the rights of churches in 2005 but his values now are different. He cannot be trusted.) 5 of the above supreme court justices were nominated by Jean Chretian, 2 by Paul Martin. The 2 that Paul Martin have nominated are quite left of center in their interpretation of the law.

It's time for change... Posted by Picasa

Dana Rogalskys Shoes

During the Christmas Holidays, one of the daytime announcers at UCB 102.3 called to do a radio bit with me on Spiritual Gifts. Anyway, she woke me up. We have a long standing "Payback" Tradition as I like to get her back on my radio program. Well, over the holidays Dana Rogalsky came over with her son to our house for a College & Careers party and forgot her shoes there. On the air last night, I felt obliged to "payback" and I've put her shoes up for auction on ebay. I think she was a l ittle shocked. Go to Ebay and type in Dana Rogalsky Shoes. All proceeds go to a great cause.
